FanDuel Premier League Trends to Know for Matchweek 12
The next Premier League main slate hits FanDuel at 10:00 a.m. EST on Saturday and features five matches. On the back of a Champions League matchweek, the slate is generally full of teams lower in the table, but this main slate includes four of the top seven squads.
Saturday, November 9
Everton at Southampton
West Ham at Burnley
Bournemouth at Newcastle
Sheffield at Tottenham
Arsenal at Leicester
Let's look at the teams and players that are rising and falling this week.
Bournemouth are not on a long winning streak, but they are playing stout defense. They have not allowed a goal in three matches after last week's 1-0 win over Manchester United. Bournemouth allowed just one goal in the prior match against Arsenal. They have taken five points from their last three matches and moved into seventh in the table. As one may imagine, the defenders lead the way on FanDuel with three of the top five in averaging scoring coming from the back line. Diego Rico ($14) leads the way with a 20.27-point average, which is fourth-best on this slate. Bournemouth face a Newcastle team that has scored in their last two games but were shut out in the previous three. Newcastle have played six home games across all competitions since the start of the Premier League season and have scored just four goals.
Player: Lucas Digne, Everton ($15)
The defender is back in form with three straight games of at least 23.3 FanDuel points. He recorded his third assist of the season last week and has created 10 total chances in the past three matches. Digne is contributing on both sides of the ball with four tackles in each of the last three matches and five clearances in each of his last two games. He has also drawn at least one foul in each match during this current hot streak. Everton face a Southampton team that have given up 11 goals in the last two matches and allowed 24 crosses by the Manchester City outside backs last game.
Spurs have not won a Premier League match in five and sit in 11th place. They have lost three of their last six games across all competitions. The team will have a quick turnaround after a Champions League match on Wednesday. Harry Kane ($22) is just coming back from being sick enough to miss the match against Everton. Son Heung-min is suspended after a violent tackle on Andre Gomes that left Gomes with a severe ankle injury and the Tottenham attacker visually distraught. Tottenham have scored 17 goals, but they have allowed 16. They are looking up at a Sheffield United team that just scored three goals against Burnley. This has the feel of a must-win game for Tottenham against a team they should beat, on paper.
Player: Issa Diop, West Ham ($10)
Even against a Burnley side that has lost three in a row, Diop is not a good play. He is still playing every minute for West Ham, but he is making little impact. West Ham have lost three of their last four games and Diop has just three tackles and three interceptions in that time. He also has a yellow card in three straight games and is one yellow card away from a suspension. Diop only has one game above nine FanDuel points in the last four and his average is down to 12.3. Burnley did have more possession last week, but they were chasing the game. Given averages, West Ham should also have the ball more this weekend, which hinders Diop's value even more.
