3 NBA Player Prop Bets to Target on Thursday 2/27/20
Player props can be useful in a variety of ways, from taking advantage of them straight up (to the tune of cold hard cash), to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball.
While you can use those odds in fantasy, you can also utilize our fantasy projections and a variety of other tools to help make money betting everyday player props.
For the purposes of this article, we are using the odds provided at FanDuel Sportsbook to pinpoint three spots where value can be had on a player's stat line, scoring, or even shot type.
Please note that betting lines and our game projections may change throughout the day after this article is published.
Tobias Harris, Over 28.5 Points + Rebounds
Without Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons in the lineup, the Philadelphia 76ers' main scoring options become Tobias Harris and Al Horford. In three of his last five home games, Harris has scored 20 or more points and he's grabbed six or more rebounds in four of five at the Wells Fargo Center. Harris has met the New York Knicks three times this season and averages 16 points and 6 rebounds on the season. They're coming off a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers last night, and Harris scored 11 points and 4 rebounds in 36 minutes.
Harris has played nine games on no rest this season and averages 18.9 points and 6.8 rebounds in 33.8 minutes per game. On one day rest, he's averaging 18.4 points and 6.8 rebounds so no real difference from the back-to-back perspective for Harris. The Knicks allow the fourth-most points (22.32) and rebounds (8.67) to small forwards in the league, and that's very favorable for Harris considering the state of this lineup. Harris has shot 50% or higher in seven of his last 10 home games, and numberFire's model projects Harris to record 19.1 points and 6.2 rebounds in 34:20 minutes.
Anthony Davis, Over 39.5 Points + Rebounds
Anthony Davis has double-doubled in his last seven games for the Los Angeles Lakers, surpassing his 44.5 total times during that stretch. Davis will be without his running mate, LeBron James who will be out tonight after recording his monster performance against the New Orleans Pelicans. Davis averages 27 points and 10 rebounds against the Golden State Warriors they face on the road. He's coming off 21 points and 14 rebounds in his third meeting with New Orleans.
The Warriors are ranked 29th in rebounds per game allowed to centers (17.29), but sixth in points per game (20.17). I would be shocked if the Warriors hold Davis to 20 points, and in fact, he's scored 21 or more in seven-straight and nine of his last 10 games. He's grabbed at least 13 rebounds in four of those seven games, and on the road, he's averaging 25.9 points and 8.9 rebounds. The Lakers will rely on Davis mightily, and that's why he's ranked 22nd across the league in Usage Rating (28.5%). Without LeBron, Davis will have to take charge and record at least 30 points and 10 rebounds
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Over 30.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has double-doubled in two-straight games and has lit his opponents up out of the All-Star break. In his last three games, he's averaged 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 5.3 assists for the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder will host the Sacramento Kings, and this will be the third meeting between the two. He's averaged 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists in two games, both coming in California. Gilgeous-Alexander has been pretty solid at home this season, averaging 20.6 points, 6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 31 games.
In his last 10 games overall he's totaled 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game, and hit his over 30.5 times in his last two games. In seven out of his last 10 at home, he's hit the over and double-doubled in four. His matchup versus the Kings is a pretty average one at best, but with the way he's been playing, he should hit his marks tonight. The Kings rank 17th in points allowed to point guards per game (23.85), eighth in rebounds (5.88), and 17th in assists (8.09). He totaled 22 points, rebounds, and assists in the first meeting, and 31 in the second to hit the over. numberFire predicts Gilgeous-Alexander to meet in the middle of those totals in tonight's meeting with 18.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists slightly hitting the under at 28.4.
